Criminal Defense

We are prepared to assist you with all criminal defense issues, including investigations before a criminal charge is brought. If you are charged with a crime, or if you believe you are under investigation or may be charged with a crime, call us before you speak with anyone else. Please do NOT discuss ANYTHING with the police before you give us a call. Please do NOT discuss ANYTHING with your “friends” before you call us (they may be witnesses against you later). The proper guidance through an investigation or following a charge can make all the difference in your future. We have been handling criminal matters since 1990 and we are ready to help you.

DWI (Driving While Impaired)

We have defended thousands of people charged with DWI. It is a very serious charge which can have very serious consequences. There are ways to defend these cases and we urge you to call us if you are charged with DWI for a free consultation, whether by telephone or in our office depending upon your preference.

Traffic Violations

It happens to almost everyone – you’re driving along, thinking about work, your family or just listening to music, and you notice the blue lights behind you. Traffic violations can come in all ‘shapes and sizes.’ Not just any lawyer can walk into a courtroom and get a good result. Do your homework. Call an experienced traffic or criminal lawyer. The call is free and it could save you a lot of money later on. No one wants their insurance premiums to rise or points on their driver’s license.

Federal Crimes

If you are charged with an offense on the Cape Hatteras National Seashore or a waterfowl or fisheries offense involving the federal authorities, please give us a call. Federal charges differ significantly from State charges and there aren’t many lawyers in this part of North Carolina who routinely handle these crimes. We have handled hundreds of them since 1990 and we will be glad to assist you.
